i just caught my horse who is big chasing its field mate round the field he was nipping the ponies bum and the pony was squealing im asuming there were playing, but my horse was not only sweaty when i got him in he was foaming a bit at the mouth as if he had a bit in his mouth and was softening against my hand. Normal or just plain cranky or anything to worry about!!

check for other signs of discomfort, is this normal behaviour and is the wind factor today anything to go by, not sure where you are but its as windy as hell here.
It may be that he is in discomfort and trying to releive this through security of the other pony, who evidently did not want him near, leading to frustration and tension with yours, or it could just be that they have been having a whale of a time in the feild and got a bit heated.
hard to say really not knowing your horse, I have known horses to foam at mouth whilst playing but rarely.
Hope things are ok keep an eye on him.
best regards
Dawn
