Hi,

I bought a bridle in a sale last week without looking too closely at it.....just been oiling it this evening and it looks like you use a CLIP to attach the bit to the cheek pieces.

Is this normal??!! Or have I just unwittingly bought a really old fashioned bridle??!!

Weren't they very fashionable with show-jumpers a couple of years back? Is it a leather bridle? If so it's fairly normal. No idea how strong they are though :/

It is a shires leather bridle.

I needed a new brown bridle as I am swapping from black to brown tack.

Thought I was getting a bargain as it was reduced from £60 to £25. It was a bit of a free-for-all sale so I didn't look at it too closely :o

Can it be used for everyday???

it's absolutely normal, it's just a different style. like you get buckles and billets. you can also get reins with clips on and you can get reins with just a loop on the end so you push the rein through the loop!!

Funny you should say that - the reins that came with it do just have a loop on the end!!!! BUt I was not planning on using them as they are plain leather with no grip....

ahh shame they look really nice, but would agre with you if they are plain leather, i really can't stand them. it's nice to have a bit of grip!!
