This may sound a bit strange but I need some good ideas please?

I have a border collie. I recently moved to a house with only a courtyard, but collie will not go to the toilet on the paving stones.

We are out and about most of the day so this isnt a problem except for last thing at night when its a bit of a pain to go find some grass..

Any ideas on how i can encourage her to go in courtyard last thing at night?

I have thought of astroturf...?

Can you lay a bit of grass/soil/gravel down? Sympathies, my border collie will not toilet in the garden at all!

Thanks for ideas, i will look into artificial grass idea. I dont think gravel would do it either tho.

yes i also have to take a trip up the road, not nice with this weather!

mine will all go on fine gravel if there is no grass available

other option is to get some topsoil down, or sand

Sand pit? Make one out of wood or get a toy one (they are quite popular for toddlers).

It's quite a common problem, I had a bitch who was like that, she hated the wee touching her feet!

A door mat will probably work. If you leave it out in the rain it kind of washes itself through too :) failing that a pressure wash every now and again should work. If not a gravel box or low tray should see her right!
