Hi all

Quick question to see if any peeps can help me
My girl has had years off work.... Long story but we are hacking out nicely now and wish to introduce some school work

When hacking ruby is now happy to walk trot and canter and feels fine

Now in the menage she cannot trot, she feels completely dog lame and hoppy behind. Also happier to trot on the right rein,, crab walking on the left.

I have the chiro coming out to her....but does anyone have any other ideas??

Is the surface of your school deep?

What happens when you just throw in some schooling whilst you're hacking?

I actually would ask a vet to come out rather than a Chiro. I had a horse who was like this, and he was found to have hock spavins.

What sort of schooling would you suggest?? I havent asked any thing apart from just to be relaxed out hacking and just asked for this in the menage too

I think I would be getting vet too. There are lots of things that will show up on a surface bit not so much on harder ground. Even more so if you are on a circle
Fingers crossed for you and let us know how you get on

Sounds like how my boy was just before he was diagnosed with hock spavins. It shows up more in trot, especially in confined spaces where the back legs and hence hocks are under more stress.

Ooooh blimey...depressed now!!
Ruby has had bilateral suspensory issues in her hind legs and lateral co lateral ligament in the fronts....surely no more can go wrong??!

Just to let everyone know..i had a chat with the vet and he mentioned a locking stifle....ive got to video and send it to him to look at...fingers crossed.x
