Yesterday my mini knocked over my coffee mug and was drinking what was coming out of the hole in the lid. So I poured some into her feed bowl and she licked it dry. My two big boys sniff it with interest but they don't drink it, but she's all for it.

Anyone else's horse like coffee, or anything odd?

Yeah my horse will drink out if my dad's mug of coffee if he isn't keeping an eye on it.

He is also partial to cherryade and coca cola. Have to say he has only ever had a tiny bit of both of these from someone's hand once so it's not a regular thing. He kept trying to get at my can of cherryade though and knocked it down me at one point trying to get at it.

He will also eat anything in reach of him so we do have to be careful as he has gone for cake and sweets before.

My daughter's appie Eventer loves coffee - specifically sweet coffee. I suspect he's actually in it for the sugar but the first time he had an iced coffee off me was a surprise! Doesn't like tea though. (Mind you I drink tea without sugar...) He also likes anything with cream or cheese on it. I suspect no-one has explained to him he is supposed to be an obligate herbivore! Daughter's PC pony also loves ice lollies - those horrible frozen sticks of coloured sugar you get cheap and freeze for PC camp. The mess when he ate a blue one was interesting....

Pie likes iced buns. I was standing in his stable with him chatting to someone while trying to eat my bun, waving it around to make my point... Bad idea... Next thing a velvety top lip has grabbed it out of my hand and he gobbled the whole thing!

If Alf is in the garden, and the conservatory doors are open, I have to make sure the dogs kibble is out of reach. Ocean fish and potato is apparently a very acceptable horse snack

My daughter's very large horse will, if given the chance, take beefburgers out of people's hands at shows. He has been known to reach over their shoulders and steal them from behind.

Billy likes Ribena. He's been known to pop his head out over a stable door and stick his tongue right down inside the glass of the unfortunate person standing on the other side. He also very much enjoyed the Sprite I put down for a moment on the trailer wheel at a dressage competition. I turned away for a moment and when I turned back, the can was on its side and he was slurping up my drink (after refusing the water I put out for him!)

My first pony (Section A) would eat anything. I vividly remember a ham sandwich disappearing out of my hand at a Pony Club rally when I was about 7.

I also used to share ice lollies with my games pony when I was maybe 11 or 12. I was bullied quite a lot at school at that age, but it felt like a real escape to sit on the stable windowsill, biting bits off an ice lolly and spitting them into my hand (delightful child!) to feed to her. She never liked to be fussed, but she was quite content to stand with me and eat lollies together in the sun.

Love the beefburger one, but this one takes the biscuit :D

Mine won't eat anything! No polo's, carrots, apples or horse treats. If I put carrots or apples in her feed she will walk away and refuse to eat it.

So many things, he has a very adventurous palate.

Tea esp Earl Grey and coffee, he's tried various herbal teas as well, Basically if I'm drinking something I have to be careful or his tongue will find its way into my cup.
Chicken pot noodle (that was from some teenagers on a yard - "look F eats pot noodle", "please stop giving my horse pot noodle")
Thai prawn crackers stolen from a bag I left too close, I found the empty packet buried in his bed.

The Older Appy likes gin :) On a number of our RC pub rides (where to drink anything with more volume may lead to a loo trip) I will drink gin, the mare always manages to knock my arm with the glass in it and then licks my hand to get the gin! The first time I thought it was an accident, but I now know better :)
