We've had a lovely day at Blenheim Horse trials today but I did hear an odd occurrence reported by the on course commentary.

Izzy Taylor was about half way round when she was pulled up for the vets to examine her horse and was subsequently restarted. I've never actually heard of this happening before - combinations being pulled up on the instructions of the ground jury yes but not them being allowed to continue.

She actually retired a few fences later so presumably she also felt something amiss.

It was a bit of a funny one! Pretty sure someone reported blood in the mouth so she was stopped for a vet check and allowed to carry on. Like you, I can’t think of a time I’ve seen that happen before - it’s usually either obvious enough to have them taken off the course or it’s not.

She pulled up really close to us and she’d jumped the water at 16 really nicely with no signs of injury or difficulty, so I'm not sure why she stopped.
