My lorry is very old and it has no heating (well it did, but doesn't work)

Other than getting it fixed (will be bloody expensive) has anyone got any ideas how to warm it up? What I want is a battery powered radiator!!!!!!!!!

Plenty of room in the live in to put something but no 12v thingy. any ideas or am i just going to be cold?

You need a diesel heater fitted. Its thermostatically controlled and would work fine without flattening your battery.

Costs around £150 plus fitting.

Most Lucas Uk garages have them and can fit them.

Do you have a gas ring? I bought a thing that sits on top of the ring and its a heater was £12 in some camping shop. I've never used it though. Or are you talking about heating in the cab?

Really old lorries (and cars for that matter) didn't have heating installed, they used to just have a pipe that led from the cab to the exhaust manifold and drew heat from that. The on/off switch was just a flap that you either openned or closed. My old TK still has that system, and it is actually rather efficient

Which reminds me, I must do something about selling the old girl soon

We use the gas rings and grill and if really cold the portable calor gas heater too.
It works a treat but we aways turn all heating off if someone isn't actually sitting in the living area. The calor gas heater is the best, it gets really war within five minutes of sing it. (lorry is well ventilated)
