odd lump on bum

my OH's 8yo female lab has had a lump on her bum ever since ive known her (over a year, would assume it was there before then). its a little smaller than a golfball in size, and to the left of her bottom, no hair on it, quite firm but seems to have what feels like a fatty layer over it? its not painful when we touch it and she never bothers with it.

my concern is that its got a little bigger over the past month or so, but still not causing any issues. tried to get a pic but daft dog kept sitting down :rolleyes:

anyone know what this could be?
 
My brother's female schnautzer has had several lumps on her chest and her side, those being tumors...she has had two surgeries to have them removed, one immediately and the other one while having awaited a while. A professional vet will precisely inform you of the options. Keep positive, it is often so that the dog tumors are not of the negative kind, which only requires a surgical treatment. Good luck!
 
My lurcher is having a marble sized lump removed from her near hind thigh on Tuesday. Vet doesn't seem worried but says it needs to come off. We're all worried for her though :( Get yours checked out x
