My dog came up lame on her front right leg about 10 days ago, was worse with rest and when she got up from a sleep she was non-weightbaring. After a few strides she was weightbaring, then after a few more she was barely lame.
No heat/swelling or soreness.
This stopped after a day or so so didnt take it any further (did see the vet and mention it though, they didnt seem concerned).

So last night she did the same thing but on her back right leg. Again no heat/swelling/soreness.
Today its got much worse this evening after her walk, we have been trying to get her to go a bit more steady but she is a very active border collie.
I'm pretty sure its not a cut or anything on her pad, as checked it thoroughly and she hasnt been licking it at all.
The only thing is there is a very small amount of swelling just behind her pad, shes now non-weightbaring.

Obviously we will be making an appointment in the morning, but any ideas?

Is she a young dog? Shifting leg lameness in young dogs could be growing pains, basically pain in the bones

no she is 4, but the first year of her life was very hard with poor nutrition, may be relevent to any joint/bone problems.

KC - she is a border collie too. it doesnt get worse with exercise though.

shes currently limping around trying to force us to play with the ball!
