Odd question!

Theoretical ( kind of)

Imagine you have a horse, a cobby type, used for riding lessons that is bombproof, blind in one eye, very laid back and good to ride. But she doesn't really jump, she just crashes through them

Now picture this. You find her in the lane next to her field

and put her back in the field. You walk the whole fence and it's all up
Next week, it's 2.30am and you find her stood outside the YO house

You think she is being bullied in the field, and change fields. To one with a 4ft fence. Today, you find her in the WRONG field. You check the fence and it's all intact

Would you think
a- the small plod of a cob is JUMPING the fence despite the fact she has never been seen to clear a 2ft cross pole without demolishing it
b - someone is letting her out/swapping fields
c - other suggestions welcome

having found LL in the mares field, LL being the ned that won't jump, i guess you have a wee (or rather not so wee) jumper there

Is she hungry? Then yes, maybe jumping out. Or if electric fencing maybe climbing through it?

hm. YO has suggested bringing her in and lunging her over some jumps to see what happens

She could be the next flying cob eventer

Thought maybe the other field, she might have managed as the fence isn't too high but this other field has a fence with a top rail and is at least 4ft

no, lots of grass, comes in a couple of times a week for lessons and gets given haylage
Solid wood fence, no way under it or through it

She is jumping!!

Being a coblet she doesn't jump when people are riding as she knows she will have to do it all the time!!

However jumping out of fields in search of grub etc would present no problem - my coblet can easily clear 3ft with someone on board!!

Literally she destroys jumps, you can hear if she is jumping in the indoor for all the crashing and banging going on

However not sure if she has been jumped ever by someone experienced

Suggested to YO it could be her next eventing project

nope she hasn't, the other line of thought is that she prefers natural fences

I had a horse on livery once that it took me 20 minutes to ride it through a puddle. Gave me the bulgy eyes/shaking shoulders and everything. When i told the owner she told me the horse was a liar, he had to cross a stream everyday to get to his field! He had me fooled. Sounds like your girly has a sense of humour too!
