Theoretical ( kind of)
Imagine you have a horse, a cobby type, used for riding lessons that is bombproof, blind in one eye, very laid back and good to ride. But she doesn't really jump, she just crashes through them
Now picture this. You find her in the lane next to her field
and put her back in the field. You walk the whole fence and it's all up
Next week, it's 2.30am and you find her stood outside the YO house
You think she is being bullied in the field, and change fields. To one with a 4ft fence. Today, you find her in the WRONG field. You check the fence and it's all intact
Would you think
a- the small plod of a cob is JUMPING the fence despite the fact she has never been seen to clear a 2ft cross pole without demolishing it
b - someone is letting her out/swapping fields
c - other suggestions welcome
