Odd sweating

I have noticed over the last few days that after a good session on the xc my horse sweats very very little and just a bit when working in the school. Today however i rode him in the school for about 20 mins nothing too hard and he was drenched?????? i dont understand it?? any ideas???

My horse sweated in the stable today, I think it was very humid today. Maybe it was the weather that made him sweat more.

yea its been very mild and i think he does have the very beginning signs of his winter coat coming, but 3 days ago xc he didnt sweat at all (odd in itself) and today hardly worked at all and wet from top of tail to ears??!!!
