Odd tumour type thing around the heel

Hello folks,

Just wondered if anyone has seen/had experience of the pic on the link. It's under vet care and was cut off today. It's been getting bigger for the last 4 weeks. Surprisingly my horse isn't really lame on it, you'd not know anything was wrong unless you looked.

I'd be suspicious that it's a sarcoid. has it been sent off for histopathology?

Yep, should be on its way to the lab. He's never shown signs of saracoids before, but agree it looks similar, hopefully not, he's got to 25 without them. He's got melenomas, but vet said they are black all the way through.

Either a sarcoid or a small overreach wound that has healed with proud flesh.

I always thought proud flesh didn't really have very much blood flow because its basically scar tissue, or am i totally wrong?

Really hope its not a sarcoid, it would be a real pain in the butt trying to keep it clean where it is, as it is he's been in for the best part of a month on and off

Oh proud flesh has plenty of blood supply...just no nerve endings.

Proud flesh bleeds like there is no tomorrow - believe me!
