Oedema Update (given up on spelling!)

So vet came out...
Not a kick or a bite...wish it was. Vet initially thought it was protein deficiency rearing its ugly head again but protein levels were fine. Turns out it is actually a liver problem (damage of beginning of failure) or a potential tumour

. She is to get more blood tests in a few weeks to see if her condition has worsened and to see if a better diagnosis can be made. She is older and retired so I do not want to put her through loads of tests to find out what it is so will wait and see what the next bloods bring up.

Just out of interest, how have they ruled out it is not a kick or a bite? Have the tested the fluid within the oedema?

Oh no!!!! I would have expected liver damage to present as a swollen belly, ie all over, not in small a patch that looks like a simple haematoma. Are there any other indications of liver damage eg photosensitivity, yellowing in the whites of eyes/gums, weight loss, off his food etc?
