Feeling very nervous this morning as off to see Liri and the last time I saw her she was in a very bad way. She got badly beaten up on Sunday night last week which resulted in a badly fractured jaw, puncture wounds and bites all over her body. Anyway she has been at Liphook all week and they are really pleased with her progress so far. They have secured her jaw with 3 screws and wires and all being well she will be able to come home on Tuesday. I feel so nervous about seeing her, especially as she is a very well loved family pony and I'm taking 3 children with me. The last time we saw her she was soo poorly, wish me luck

Aww, poor, poor mare that sounds very sore. I hope she is feeling better in herself.

Must have been awful for you to see too.
Will she now be separated from her agressor?

Thank you all. The other mare trashed the electric tape and I think she cornered her. My YO has said that she will provide Liri her own properly fenced paddock from now on, she's been really helpful. My mare can be aggressive but the vet said she had never seen attack like it and it looked more like the result of a stallion fight, the other mare only had a couple of little nicks on her legs though.

OMG! I've never seen a horse truly go for another one, and suppose I'd thought it wouldn't happen in domesticated horses, other than stallions
