Off to Rockley tomorrow!

We've had intermittent lameness in both front legs for the past 9 months, had corrective shoeing but he was still lame on and off so I asked for an MRI a few months ago which showed he's got a small lesion to his DDFT in the left fore. Had remedial shoeing after this by a specialist farrier but he was still lame so I put my name down for Rockley. Sadly my insurance money has run out now but I feel it will be money well spent.
What about your guy?

This time its DDFT damage in both fronts, with a focal lesion on the worst side. Since 2011 we have had lots of issues though with PSD, tendonitis and tenosynovitis all requiring vet treatment and varying amounts of box rest and rehab exercise - I'm a pro at it now! We have lots of exclusions on our policy these days :o

Terri love - I haven't a clue about your horses problem - sorry! You might want to start a new post on it (go to forums page, click on one, Vet and hoof care and top left there's a button that says post new thread) or contact Nic at Rockley if you think it might help, or have a look at their blog and their website

Rockley have updated their blog with stencilface's horse I think. :)

Nope, not him - I was excited when I saw the update though!

No, not him :), you will have to be more patient ;)

(he isn't an ex-racer as half luso ;) )

The other big giveaway that he's not a racer is that he's so lazy he's practically horizontal ;) Good memory though!

I feel like a stalker ;). TBF I think that sticks in my head from a secret santa stalking year :p. He also doesn't have the flat feet of a full tb :p

The updated did make me quite excited to see his progress pics while there though :).

The update is for my boy (Josh!) I was mega excited when I received the link from Nic. Can't wait to see his progress in a few weeks!

Had an email from Nic to say that Norman is stuck to Josh like glue and they are best buds. My boy can be a bit of a clingy limpet, but hopefully they're good friends, Norman has missed company and has probably been desperate for a groom and a scratch! Should be an update today :)

Yes he does seem to love Josh! I visited yesterday and we wanted to get Josh it to check how he's holding his weight and Norman insisted on coming in too! He's a real sweetie. They seem to be getting on really well. I'm pleased Josh has made a friend too...Nic is hoping that Norman and the other grey they have been teaming up with will encourage Josh to eat more rather than stand and star gaze!

Well there's one thing my horse is a true pro at its eating!! I hope you didn't get mugged too much for treats from Norman, although he is pretty cute when he does it - even if I do say so! He likes the sound of his own voice too, and gets very neighy towards his friends. Its lovely to hear you've seen him too, its unlikely (though not impossible) that I will get down there for a visit before I pick him up.

First update is here

Well his feet don't look as bad my ex racer's did when he got there. Frankie if you want to compare

Criso, I've just had a read of Frankie's history, its interesting to hear that he had similar issues to Josh and was succesfully rehabed. Saw that he has recently done a suspensory though. Sorry to hear that :-( Keeping fingers crossed for you.

That was a couple of years ago and after further investigation they found a bone cyst in his shoulder which sadly couldn't be fixed. He's a big fat field ornament now and his feet although they don't look as good being out of work still stomp over rocks.

I had a couple of years doing everything we wanted including jumping and hunting before the shoulder so happy I at least got that.
