So have been umming and ahing about getting a second dog now ours is a bit older and calmer, and saw one on rspca website for rehoming who looks lovely, he is a malamute same as the one we have now but current one is a bitch, spoke to rspca and they have said to go over with our girl and take them for a walk to see how they get on so that's my Sunday today, so excited! Anyone able to tell me what to expect from my visit today, also bloody sods law that I hurt ny back at the stables thus morning so OH will have to do the dog walking bit as apparently he pulls quite hard.

Had a big change of plan and taking current dog to vets instead as she has just started shivering / trembling for no known reason, OH thinks I am overeacting and has gone to play basketball instead!

Vet thinks she has uterus infection and may need surgery, ultra sound didnt show anything as bad as she expected so no surgery today just big dose of penecillin, hefty vet bill and got to go back in the morning to repeat tests and see if there is any decline in which case surgery goes back on the table. All v stressful but the tremours have at last subsided so feeling more positive.

Thank you she is much better today, vet repeated tests and temp was down, white blood cell count not quite right yet but dog much bouncier, no tremours, eating treats but not dog food yet so another big jab of antibiotics and a 10 day course to take away but thankfully no op required, so apears she just doesnt want to share attention with any other dog and wanted me to prove my love in the form of footing a hefty vet bill!
Will try to rearrange rspca visit for saturday if other dog is still available then
