Off to see a horse tomorrow

and of course, has the horse jumped out of its field ever?

Reason being is that if you are on livery or your field is next to a road, its a right pain!

Plus lot livery yards don't accept this little vice.

Anyways good luck!

All of the above and check his feet are good quality - he might be a sound as a pound but we all know bad feet can be a real pain in the proverbial!!!
A kind dark eye and big ears mean an honest horse (olde folke theory but has worked for me!)
short coupled less likely (very generaly) means stronger back less likely to have probs and GOOD LUCK - looking forward to reading how youve got on - Oh and one more thing - I know not something you will tend do often but can you get on him from the ground?

lots of good advice here I have just one tip to add, ask to hack him out even if it isnt far, when you get back (and on his own) walk him past the enterance to the yard and see if he resists or goes willingly, This can show up a horse that might have a nappy streak.

I went to try one for a friend as a hack it was excellent until i tried to walk it past its yard when it planted and reared, finally got it past but it took me a few minutes. I asked if it napped before i rode it and the seller said no, when it did nap I re-questioned her to which she replied it can be difficult on its own but is fine in company. needless to say my friend didnt buy it.

Thanks guys! Will put a report type thing when I get back - Just about to leave
