Got appointment tomorrow at 9 with parents Newfy who is still not happy on her bad leg, unsure if its just a flare up but think its likely that she has reached the end of the road.
so tomorrow could be a sad day and end of an era. She is an amazing dog who will not be allowed to suffer.

She will be put to sleep at home tomorrow lunch time. Was only locum vet- he gave her pain killers injection and have got 4 to give all day today to keep her comfy my dad was at work today as in court case so couldn't be there, we spoke to her normal vet (he was on conference but rang us after we sent email) who is comin out tomorrow on his day off to put to sleep at home where she is settled- vets truly do care.

So sorry that you're having to face this. Such a difficult thing to do. The act itself will be very quick and peaceful. Just treasure these last few hours with her.

Thanks, we are! She is having steak and chips for tea. She had a macDonalds burger at lunch too- so is being very spoilt. My young lab adores her and normally torments her but when we visited this afternoon he just lay with her so sweet.

I'm so sorry you're going through this cruel time. Dogs can be very understanding and supportive. Will your Lab be there tomorrow? When we had to say farewell to our beautiful girl, our 2 other dogs stayed with her until the vet arrived, and we let them say goodbye to her after she was pts. Some people believe you should let your pets say goodbye, not sure if that is always appropriate, but in our situation it was definitely so...
Keep strong for the Newfy's sake.

I think my OH will bring him over after so he can see her. Don't want him there during as he is bit mental with New people so will only cause trouble and will cry if locked out so stress her out.
Its horrible but its the best thing for her and that's what matters.

She slipped away quickly and peacefully at 1.30pm today, lying in the garden with the sun shining on her. RIP beautiful girl, Im so glad your pain free, will love you always.
I feel for my parents so much they are now pet less for the first time in 20 years.

From a Newfy owner, so sorry to hear of your mum's loss but glad to hear she was outside with the sun on her back xx
