Off track Tb's, new careers as cart horses!

We have two ex racehorses - OH has suggested they coud do scurry driving though may stand out a little next to the ponies.

ALthough part of me was thinking of the absloute carnage if they crashed, I couldn't help but enjoy it!!! I think its the commentator, ''the louuuder you cheeer that faaaster they get heeeere!!''

Wonder how long it takes getting them broken to harness and working in a team, must be pretty alien to an ex racer..

To do that not long ,to break to harness to be a well behaved horse capable of doing a dressage test in horse driving trials and that you could trust not to panic when it went stuff goes wrong a lot longer.

OOOhh that's sooo dangerous

But I guess that is what all the TBs with kissing spines could do :o

When I worked for a chap who had carriage horses, the FEI carriage driving was just starting up. All four-in hand, no singles pairs etc and you had to use the same vehicle through all 3 phases. (the dressage one- we had a shooting brake).
There were so many foreign horses starting to be brought over, gelderlanders etc and everyone was starting to use them so my boss thought as he was English he would use English thoroughbreds.
They were all about 15.2, and we competed at all the driving trials- windsor, eaton hall etc.
