Frustrated but pointless post ! I have been offered on loan the perfect confidence building horse - he is everything I want but I can't afford the time or cost for 2 and I have a lovely but useless pony who I can't ride but has spent all his life being passed around and I won't pass him on again. Hey ho - there's horses for you !

I'd probably have to get a divorce lawyer too ! Husband was surprised enough when useless but lovely pony appeared !!

Feel your pain, been there so many times and a couple of times actually owned 2 cracking horses that i had to let go (to fantastic homes where i can keep in touch), in favour of keeping my plonker lol

In these situations I always look at it like this - if it doesn't happen it wasn't meant to be. If you can find a way to make it happen it was meant to be :)

A short while ago I found myself in pretty much the same situation, my thread was headed The Gift Horse.

I decided if I had to ask for opinions whether I should take it or not, I had better not!

I honestly think for me it was the right thing to do.

Lots of people have one more horse than "on the books", remember it is "for Better or worse", you could view it as a test of his love for you [if he ever finds out]

As we keep pony at home and he does him for me sometimes I think he might notice an extra one. He was very good about having one he didn't really want. I have already tested him quite severely so I wouldn't want to abuse his goodwill !! (Pony has horses next door and is totally chilled and happy with this so can't pull the companion card either !)

I am sure there are horses to share if I want, but I don't have much time what with work and children and I want to give my pony a better life than he has had so we go for walks in hand ! One day I may be light enough to ride him it until then or until my little girl is big enough to ride him properly if she wants to we shall play. Doesn't stop me knowing what i am missing out on though !!
