Ogilvy Memory Foam Half Pad - Has anyone used???

I have a memory foam pad not that brand I got it from Paul Fielder I think it's Daneish ( their on his website) .
It was cheaper than that one it was I think £100 .
It is without doult the best pad I have ever had it came with two covers a white and black one which is very useful .
I bought for a very tricky senestive horse and it literally changed that horses way of going overnight I was amazed .
It's been in daily use for over a year now and is still great condition so good value.
It beds down well under the saddle and never moves I will definatly buy more .

I had a very long chat with the people at Shadowhorse as I was trying to decide between the Ogilvy one and the Fleeceworks one (v high-quality fleece, with hidden pockets for high-quality memory foam shims) for my opinionated mare. After a lot of thought and advice I went for the Fleeceworks one (which was about the same price as the Ogilvy one... which, btw, Nick Skelton used at Greenwich) and am delighted with it.
I was v impressed by the quality of the products they had on the Shadowhorse stand: the pads are fantastic, and the bridles were just beautiful quality, great design, and I love the fact that you can mix and match whatever noseband, headpiece, reins etc you want. a real 'find' at Burghley imho. great customer service, can't fault them.
I bought some of their braiding wire stuff too (for securing plaits, wire that you plait in and then wrap round to secure, can then bend plait etc as you want... will report back on how good it is compared to elastic bands!
if you're looking for a super-duper 1/2 pad the Ecogold Triple Protection Pad is also supposed to be excellent, lots of reports on it on the COTH site... haven't managed to try one yet for comparison though.

Thanks for that... I was looking at the bridles as well... I think one of those may be dropping into my shopping basket too... they looked excellent. I was most intreuged by the cavesson/drop noseband combo bridle - would have loved to have tried that one out on Trigger!

I did look at the fleeceworks stuff too (and no doubt had the same information from the chappie on the stand), but I was more swung towards the other one. Maybe I should drop them an email! Also interesting enough, I looked on the US manufacturers (Ogilvy) website, and they have a fleece/mesh combo rug... maybe the sort you were after?

Oooh, i'll have a look, ta. Haven't found one yet, even got the phone number of the Thermatex factory to see if they'll make me one, after the lady on the stand vetoed my idea of buying a cheap mesh rug and then sewing a rectangle Thermatex dog bed pad on the loins area myself!
I had a chat with the guy on the stand, but the younger girl was apparently the real expert and i ended up chatting to her about it for about 30 mins to get it all sorted... worth you giving her a call I think.
I didn't notice the cavesson/drop combo, will have a look at their website. I was intrigued by the beautiful padded headpiece designs and the fancy grackle attachments etc, and the seamless rolled noseband... quite something.

Interesting! I was trying to find a UK stockist for the Ogilvy half pad after seeing Nick Skelton recommending it in BS magazine - and hey if I had one I could surely jump like him and Big Star :p;)
May have to be saving for a bit though - would welcome feedback from anyone that uses one

I have a saddle which was made with memory foam in the panels .. it is the best saddle i have ever had and horses go lovely in it.
Dont know why more arent made ... wish could have it in the seat too :-)
