A few of you may remember my boy is on box rest due to an enlarged ligament in his stifle (done by falling over in his field being a wolly). We had done two weeks in without a hicup, i took him out every morning for some grass and hes been an angel

Until Saturday!!

Took him out as usual for a snack, without any warning he reared up and ran backwards

after 5 rears i had to let go, he had a run around before i could grab hold of him, then he had another rearing session and got away again, luckily my OH was in the direction he ran in and he got hold of him and walked him back.

While doing this, he pulled off half my finger nail, that bloody hurt!! Made my ring cut through my finger (lesson learnt not to wear rings) very bad rope burn and a really really sore arm where ive pulled all my muscles trying to hold him. My own fault, i should have let go, but all i kept thinking of is his ligament.

Hes now back to square one with his stifle and feeling very sorry for himself.

Now the vets have said 3 weeks complete box rest, without grass

3 weeks isnt long out of his life i know, but im abit gutted to be honest. We only had 5 days to go before he could be turned out in a tiny paddock!! Now its 3 weeks, i hate box rest and feel very sorry for my poor Jack. He cant even come out for a nibble now.

On a good note, the Globla herbs box rest is working wonders, he yawned 7 times while i was mucking out this morning. He isnt stressing at all, just looks drunk so i recommend that to anyone for a loony geegee!!

Healing vibes for injured soldier plz xx

Daft so'n'so! Hope he gets over this set back quick, and your scrapes heal up too!!

Lots of healing vibes winging their way to you both xx

I know exactly how you feel! One off mine was on 8 weeks box rest. On week 7 the vet was coming to check he was still on track with his recovery, and wanted to see him walked out. I had my suspicions he might get "excited" so I had a bridle on him. He walked out nicely, calmly, then bang... reared, took off, bolted, snapped the reins, jumped a 5 bar gate (off concrete) and went for a gallop around the field with the others.

He ended up with another 3 weeks' box rest as punishment... oops.

Hope Jack feels better soon... and your finger too!

Oh god, Isnt it annoying!

I do understand the horses being peed of with it, i would hate it, just hope the next few weeks go smoothly! xx
