I love Bassets, but am I right in thinking they can be a bit stubborn and hard to train? Not to mention randy...

Yep, you've hit the nail on the head Soots! You can add to that hard of hearing - but also add they are the most loving dogs and like nothing more than a cuddle on your lap, just make sure you're sitting on a strong chair!

If I could guarantee she'd only have two then I'd let it go and be able to prove what a great cross it would be but as you say, just to spite me and prove a point, she'd end up with 15 - and no chance of that many homes - unless we leave them to it and move out to the boxes ourselves!

Oh go on, have the puppies! We had West Highland terrier x black lab and they were divine, and no shortage of homes either. Generally they were lab length, Westie height, curly coated and very very soppy. I'd do it, and I bet you'd want to keep the lot. Bless!
