Tomorrow is the last shoot here at the farm. It’s a very low key, friendly day, I have booked the day off work and was planning to go. Then we are all going for dinner afterwards.
Cec absolutely loves going shooting, obviously he has no part in it but just loves going.
Last year on beaters day I took Spud and he picked with Cecil allowed free along side on the last drive having the time of his life.
So that was the plan for tomorrow.
I *might take Bert out just to watch the first drive, maybe even just to mill around on the yard and watch people turn up then he can stay home, he’s been before and been fine but as posted here we had a funny time with other dogs a while ago and although he’s better I don’t want to undo things.

As you can see he’s revved and ready to go, or is he resting ready to go maybe 😂

He has a determined look in his eye!

Good luck keeping him contained tomorrow 😂😂
There will be little containing him! He knows the farm better than we do I’d imagine but
he’s pretty good, always comes back!

I had to laugh the last shoot, I was just getting back from walking him before heading back to work and one guy who regularly comes commented he liked the look of him, a spunky little bast**d
He wasn’t far off wrong to be fair 🙄

You see quite a few terriers out beating. And my BIL used to stand on the peg with his tiny jrt and his old lab. The jrt used to run over to the pheasant and guard it until the lab turned up to collect, when it got an escort back. 😄
On the last drive I had him on a lead and he saw a runner come down.
Trained dog (admittedly young) went after it, didn’t get it.
He did, he knew exactly where it was. It was in a hedge and a person got to it first, as he was still on the lead til the whistle.
He would 100% have got it.
