Went to the tack shop to "shoot the breeze" with the tack shop owner and came out with a bridle. It's a Jeffries Falcon one with a plain raised nose and browband and was a bargain price (half the price of what they usually go for as it was the last one they had). I'm fed up with using my good show bridle (also a Jeffries!) everyday as it's getting scratched up so could do with another for everyday use. LOL, haven't told my OH though and it's still sitting in the bag in the kitchen in amongst the junk on the kitchen table (LOL).

Anyone else gone to tack shop recently and come out with an "unplanned" purchase? :D

A half price Jeffries bridle, when you really sort of needed one anyway... I would have got it too. :D

Not a tack shop but, I was very restrained yesterday. I went to buy some finches for my Mum and although I got a couple more than I'd intended, I did manage to resist the fancy pheasants (so beautiful :) ). Then they had kittens too (eeeeep! :D ) and I nearly crumbled. Gah, I have a real cat weakness, but I really don't need anymore animals.

You need it you want it its bought - well done for the bargain! I've just bought a pearl custom made browband for the youngster off e-bay even though she's been on rest for two months and it looks like she'll need arthroscopy on her hock. My excuse to oh was - it was a bargain and I'll use it as soon as she's better - then he mentioned the furry leather tendon and fetlock boots that I bought last year still with the tags on and apart from "I didnt want to get them dirty" I didnt know what to say!

I went to the Derby house closing down sale today intending to buy sensible things, numnah, bucket, feedscoop, etc came out with a leather head collar, a pair of reins, a nylon head collar, and a pair of equilibrium brushing boots!

Your OH should see it as a bonus that at least there wasn't a horse attached to the bridle, which is what I was expecting when I opened the thread. Despite my disappointment it sounds like you got a real bargain, well done!

There is a Derby House literally 5 mins from my yard (so so so dangerous!) and I went in for a martingale stop. Cost = 50p Final bill to Allie5 when leaving the shop? £23! Because I had to have a new likkit for both of then, then some new over reach boots! My OH doesn't let me go in unsupervised any more!

I went to help at a riding club event last Sunday and came home with a bridle! Someone had a notice up selling some of their surplus tack. I was quite restrained - I could have bought a turnout and stable rug as well!

I went to the horse sales a couple of years ago to buy some exercise bandages and came home with a colt!!! Used my council tax money to buy him , my partner at the time wasnot impressed i never told him he turned up at the yard later that night and seen me with him !!! He wasnot happy!!!!!
