Horse advertised on Facebook as a raffle prize, £10 per tickets. Absolutely unbelievable. What is happening to the horse world.
Can't copy and paste link on my phone but will try when I get in from work.
Poor horse :(

Poor horse :(

Wasn't there something mentioned on the donations on facebook thread that that practice is illegal?

Public raffles have to be licenced, I would have thought that Facebook counted as publicly advertising.

What an absolutely awful situation for the poor horse. Others will not agree but I think pts would be a kinder option for the horse if owner can not keep him or sell, loan him, but then that would cost the owner money. So very sad.

Needs reporting, to Trading standards and what about letting local BHs welfare officer know.

Have reported to Facebook and will report to all other relevant parties when I get in from work. Upon further inspection this bloke appears to be a dealer. Pm if you would like to know which one

I was gobsmaked to hear of a farmers little stallion having been won in a raffle over here (Ireland) as a colt. He was subsequently used as a tease for mares and lead (dragged by a tractor!) to them. He is now gelded and well looked after but has mental and physical scars. A few years on and he is a lovely little fella but very lucky to have been prised, with a cash inducement, from the farmer!
