I have a slight problem.

Hen Party on the night of Saturday 21st Aug = good times :)

Dressage competition on the Sunday 22nd Aug = bad times

Is it at all possible to do both?

Survival techniques much appreciated....no I re phrase that, needed! :D

It's the only one date before the wedding that my fiends could do and it's typical that a) I was supposed to be going doing some fence judging and on the Sunday it's a chance to take my lado to his second dressage outing which is really important to me and something I really really want to do.

So

I could not drink - put up with everyone else’s drunken conversations all night and make sure they don't do anything too stupid and embarrassing....done that before, it's no fun. :(

Just have a few - is that possible on a hen do…specially when it’s your own?

Go crazy - live with consequences, attempt the test with a mother of all hangovers, whilst looking like death and stinking of stale booze and a mouth like the bottom of birdcage, I’m bad enough at remembering tests as it is, I've no chance if I’m feeling ill.

Get so drunk that I hunk my guts out towards the end of the night, thus leaving no alcohol in my system and feeling fresh as daisy the next morning.:p

What would you do...seriously though.

I have competed dressage before with a hideous hangover, felt dizzy and sick..

However also managed to get my highest ever mark - 78% at Novice!

Probably wouldn't recommend it though, and don't fancy trying it again in a hurry. I think if I was in your position I would cancel the dressage and make the most of your hen night - there will be other dressage competitions!

Whatever you decide, have fun!

Eh?! YOUR hen do?!? What have I missed?!?!:o
Well congratulations anyway!

I was going to say the "just have a few" option, until I read it was YOUR do! So I'm now errring on the side of "have as much as possible, honk it all up and be fresh as a daisy"!! Especially as I hope to be seeing you at the dressage the next day!!

Just think how relaxed you'll be if you're still half drunk doing your test!! :D
For me I would kick the test into touch. You only get one hen night but there will be plenty of other tests. Alternatively can you ask for the latest time possible?

If you do decide to drink - my mate swears by this for making sure you are chipper the next day:

take two Milk Thistle capsules and a Zantac before you start drinking

she said that she did this a while back to try it out and then went on a bender - her friends spent the next day being sick and she felt fine, a bit tired, but not hungover.

worth a go!

It's your hen do!! Being a bit of a party gal, personally I would have a great night of it and try to also drink water in between alcohol, so you can get bit drunk but not feel quite so bad the next day.

Can you not just miss the dressage this once? You will only have one hen night, right? There are plenty more dressage tests you can do in the future! Go party, like it's your last night of freedom (joke).

Exactly, I'd like to make a nice impression to fellow HHO'ers, not scare you half to death and have a breath like a badgers ar*e! :D

Go for it just dont drive to it next day get friend to and have fun

That's another point you see, although I won't be driving to the comp (don't have a trailer at the moment) we walk up...again that won't be fun, I'd still need to drive up to the yard so can't do this after a heavy night either, although I could stop over at a friends as they all live near the yard, but I doub't very much they would appreciate me setting my alarm for 6am so I can 'plait up' :D

get with the program... where've you been? even i knew this news and i miss EVERYTHING on here! :D

honk it all up and be fresh as a daisy"!!

honk it up? HONK? is that a word for puking? brilliant. i'm going to use it.

i learnt another new word last night from the TV... 'prevening' - to describe the time between afternoon and evening... brilliant... soon my vocab is going to be so extensive i'll turn into a dictionary.

oh and Kenzo, can't help with advice, as the first drink on my hen do was sambuca which made me spew so much i didn't drink anything else all night... but i DO want pics of the dressage test!

xx

lol

hmmm maybe I shouldn't of though...the Dictionary Police from SB will be coming to arrest me! :D

Get drunk but try and stick to one type of alcohol maybe? I normally do ok competing wise with a hangover (no nerves!), can you get someone to read your test out for you, pref someone that isn't out with you the night before?!

I don't do puking, so wouldn't go for that option myself, I'd just stick to shorts and mixers as these seem to give the least potent hangovers. Make sure you eat before bed, and have a pint of water with some pre-emptive pain killers? Then have your OH or similar prepped to be nice to you and cook a nice brekky and be on hand with more painkillers the morning after?

As an aside, don't let your mates do anything too stupid with you, and make sure you get to bed with all your limbs intact :D

Policeman - Serephin? who's Serephni?''

Me - I dunooow but she made me dooooooooo it, she said they would make me feel goooooooood!!!!!!!! :D''

Then I gets locked up. :(

Sat 16th October, before my OH starts a life sentance of poverty and horses :D

Don't take to me about brows, there bad enough as it is lol

I'd knock you out with the fumes :D

Well now... here is a suggestion! Knock out the judges with your breath, then write the comments and put in the marks yourself!

"Textbook transition and WOW, what a gorgeous horse!"

You could be the first person ever to get 100% (or 99.9 if you wanted to be reasonable and modest ;)) as a dressage mark!

Perhaps if you are still mildy pissed...or off your head on strong hangover relieving painkillers you may end up doing a better test??:D

have you found 'the dress'' BTW??

hmmm I'd like to think so Pops but I can't see it happening some how:D

Yeeees course I've found 'the dress' don't mess about me you know, I found it in the first shop, wen't to another few shops to look around, annoy a few assistants and scar their poor eyes with my fried eggs in the most unsexy bridgejones stylee corsit they could fit me into but like a typical woman, I went back the first shop/dress I found and got daddy to cough up a cheque :D

Ordered it 4 weeks ago so should be back in the shop any time soon to re-fit/alter etc.
