Given who posted and their contacts and contacts contacts I’m sure the horse will get a suitable home for the rest of his retirement. Current owners going into care home it says. All the very best to him.

There is another one in last weeks H&H print edition. 20 yr old mini-shetland stallion. Been used for breeding and in the same home since a foal.

They are asking £100 for him. He's too old to castrate and minis need special fencing and care.
What is his future likely to be? It's so sad.

I’m not saying he won’t get a lovely top class home. What I’m worried about is moving a 28 year old horse. He’ll be disoriented and likely stressed.

I just hope they have actually thought it through instead of instantly thinking ‘I know! We’ll rehome him’!!

Anyway. I’m off before anyone else jumps me for having an opinion about horse welfare!!

Not jumped on you at all and sorry if it came across like that but we know nothing about the horse his character and recent history so really for those who do know him to decide how he’d get on moving to a new home. He raced 54 times here and abroad so let’s hope that even at 28 he enjoys a change of scenery.

I am not sure they got mad - mainly fairly considered replies other than a couple. I am not any of the posters. A couple of other daft replies but nothing OTT at least in my view.

Someone engaged with me in a separate post and was nasty. ‘How dare I suggest pts when obviously the horse would be fine going to a new home!!’ That sort of thing and more. Blocker get in the end.
