oh god i want this horse *warning, pointless*

i don't think he's very well established on the flat, (oh god, i could work on that :()but he looks very honest and calm over fences and his hacking out looks really good :) WANT, asked hubby for a joke and he just laughed and told me not to be ridiculous

Aww hes not my type of horse but think thats a bit overpriced, doesnt actually mention if he's been anywhere/hunted/competed etc. Could just be schooled at home.

I like his markings on his neck though :D

I would have said more like £2-3k assuming he has not competed anywhere. But a horse is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it!!!

As it is a current advert if you want to know what I really think, you will have to PM me!!! For example, we have a super 4 year old hunter who has been out to affilaited shows and won and been placed, lovely looking horse - for around £8k. He will be at HOYS without a doubt in 2013 and is only being sold because we have run out of room (26 stables, 32 horses ...)

So something like this at £6k without the looks, or a competition/hunting record seems really expensive.

Not a chance I'd be paying £6k for a hunter *type* with no experience. Unless the ad is selling him very short, the blurb is no different to horses going for a fraction of that - he's a decent hacker with *potential*. He's a gorgeous looking horse though :)

Good hunting cob, well behaved, head like a barn door on a short neck, could take a bit of holding.
Excellent comprehensive video, saves answering a lot of questions.

I agree guys - pics look nice but in the video he doesn't look good at all. No way I'd spend that amound on a horse that is so unestablished and totally unproven. I'm sure he'd make a lovely project for someone to bring on as he looks a nice enough type, but you wouldn't be able to make any money on him if you bought him for that.

OK ....

The horse doesn't have the best confo, it's got god damn awful muscle distribution and looking at the video it's pretty damn obvious why ... the horse is unschooled/incorrectly schooled.

For pretty much anyone, assuming the horse has done bog all, 6K is way to much at this stage.

Now if this horse has done 1-2 good seasons hunting, was proven sane and good jumper, came with references, then it would easily fetch 6K+

Now, if the horse is easy and kind to do, safe, sane, no medical issues or vices then despite the awful schooling I could see a price tag of around 4K achieved to a particular type of market.

I would personally pay in the region of 2K for this horse, with a view to a sale at around 5-6K in 6-12 months time, having changed it's top line and done some RC and half a season hunting.

A lot for the type of horse, whose conformation MAY hold him back from reaching the heights competition wise. OTOH why not pay a decent price for a young, forward going unspoilt horse, one that hasn't been messed up and is a blank canvas, ready to go and do a job? I'd try and get the price down a little though but they probably expect that.

i just liked his attitude, it seemed very willing and quiet and workmanlike. agree having looked around though that his price seems very high - he is sweet tho! :)

Oh he does look very sweet, the sort of face I like. Shame he's not about a third of their asking price :D

i agree pookie *huge sigh* maybe if i wait a couple of months, see if he drops in price and then sell my body to buy him *JOKE*;)

The sad thing is there are plenty of lovely honest horses around that people are struggling to sell. The prices some decent TBs and crosses are going for are heartbreaking.

They'll either have drop the price or they'll sell him to someone with more money than sense. I know what would probably be better for the horse :)

Sorry overpriced completely and under established, for a 6 yr old for that money I would expect him to be going into a better contact, and not being nearly so resistant and short, etc. I was so un-impressed by the video I didn't finish it!!! Nice type though and for half the money probably a good buy.

Not sure I would have used that video in trying to sell a 6k horse. The riders hands look very solid (not that I know anything) which could account for the head shaking? He has no bend at all and is almost motorcycling the corners in canter.
3k maybe.
His jump is quite nice and he seems quite honest.

I've finally bothered to look at the video...eek! Not well schooled at all. I'd expect far more for 6k. No comment on the horse being aimed over jumps at a dog lying in the grass.

Not really impressed by him at all to be honest... His head is all over the place and he doesn't carry himself well.

I wouldn't pay £6k for him, maybe half as others have said but to be honest he doesn't float my boat at all. He's gonna need a lot of work to go anywhere...

I can't see the vid (work pooter!) but I'm not keen on the static conformation I'm afraid, and he's really, really poorly muscled. But given the picture of him in trot, I'm not surprised, poor basket.

Nearly £6k seems ridiculous in today's market.

A horse is worth whatever someone wants to pay for him....

If I was the owner of that horse, I'd be pretty p*ssed to come onto a site to find people ripping the poor thing to shreds left right and centre..

This is an animal, not a car!

To someone, this horse will have a place in their heart, no matter WHAT he looks like...
