oh god i want this horse *warning, pointless*

now there is a potential maxi cob if i have ever seen one. im imagining him with a lot more topline and wow

I agree that with 12 months correct work and a lot of effort the horse will look totally different. Low level maxi cob maybe, decent level I doubt.

This is just a low end dealer looking for a quick buck.

A horse is worth whatever someone wants to pay for him....

If I was the owner of that horse, I'd be pretty p*ssed to come onto a site to find people ripping the poor thing to shreds left right and centre..

This is an animal, not a car!

To someone, this horse will have a place in their heart, no matter WHAT he looks like...

I was very careful NOT to rip the horse to shreds. The horse is being sold by a dealer. I am sure they are delighted to see it being discussed - you never know, someone may buy it as a result of this discussion.

I am expected to sit quietly whilst 20 or 30 people were very critical of one of our horses recently - that is what happens when pictures are put onto the internet (not by me, I hasten to add). Hey - I survived (and the horse has since gone on to win several classes, so clearly he didn't care either!!)

The dealer is asking a massive price for a horse which is clearly not worth that amount of money based on the pictures and videos that are shown. It is always possible that the photographic evidence is not representative of the animal in question, in which case, shoot the dealer ...

come on guys, this was all meant to be lighthearted :p me wanting another horse that i definitely cant afford but offered to sell myself to buy  joking by the way:D

i think he's a lovely honest type and with a bit of work will be a smashing boy - different things float all our boats ;)

Fwiw, I'd pay near enough what they want for him (alright, a grand less). I think he's just smashing. He looks as honest as the day is long, however poorly ridden in the video.

Local level only, a show horse he ain't. He does not move straight, his quarters will not change greatly and his tail is very low set. Most judges will be shaken rather stirred by that choppy action.

But, what a little cracker, I would go to £3,500 for him, knock his wolf teeth out and he would be a super all rounder pleasure horse in 12 months time.

He would make a very useful hunt servants horse in slow heavy country with the added bonus that he will jump if needed.

Most certainly find him a stable, I like him a lot. But £5,750 not just yet.

And hte (T) after the phone number means that it is a dealer.

not necessarily, I put (T) after my ads on the whole but I am a breeder, not a dealer, but still a business. Sometimes the websites insist you put T if you advertise more than 2 in a certain period. I have two for sale, so have to put it.

Hmm, he is lovely..........but he looks more maxi cob than hunter *type*. He looks green and I dont like that nodding movement at all.

For comaprison...........I paid £1500 in 2004 for my 15.1hh Cob at 8 years - 3 years later I was offered double that as he had *potential* . So I really do think that at that stage 3k would be more reasonable.

I would agree with this. Obviously I'd put in a cheeky offer below asking price, but he looks a gentleman.

Why would you knock his wolf teeth out? Not being rude genuinally curious what you mean..

His way of going in the video suggests to me he is very unhappy in his mouth and the most usual reason for that in a young horse is wolf teeth.

With them removed the horse will be much more comfortable and able to take a steady contact.
