I have entered Broadway NOVICE!!!
*gulp*
Just been and posted it (they don't do internet entries, grr!).
I will book in lots of stressage lessons to get the counter canter/medium trot and canter sorted (we can do it, just need to tidy it up a bit!).

Why is novice like, a tenner more expensive than BE90/BE100?

(don't tell dad!!)

Aghh I am so excited, I honestly never thought I would do a BE Novice in my life

Have a few more lined up if this goes well too...!

Good luck - don't worry you'll be fine!! A couple of years ago, I'd completely lost my confidence but thanks to me stealing my brother's schoolmaster and complete angel, I gradually built up to doing novice. My first novice, at Catton was such an achievement and I loved it. You'll be fine!!! Enjoy it!!

Wow Catton is a beefy first novice- I did the pony club open there last year on my old horse (ran over most of the novice track) and it scared me sh!tless

Queenie is doing wonders for my confidence (mainly in the dressage- can you believe I get more nervous doing dressage than going xc?!!)

Catton was a big novice - I actually cried virtually the whole way round walking the course but he was so good. At points, I wanted to trot I was so scared but he just ignored me and showed me the way to do it. We were 9th at Brigstock the year after and I really enjoyed that one!!! He's getting on a bit now, he's 16 and feeling his age. He was struggling with the spreads so we dropped him right back to open intro so he could enjoy himself again, which he is!

I always got more nervous show jumping- he's very careless and my brother got compulsary retired with him - fortunately I only did it once! I get really nervous still - at one event, I got myself so wound up, I tried to convince my brother, who was grooming for me that the horse was lame so I didn't have to show jump. I've never been too bad once I'm actually going on the xc, I always feel better when I'm on him but walking the course always worries me!! Dressage doesn't bother me - I spent a few years doing it before I dared jump again so its my comfort zone!!!
I'm sure you'll be fine - if the dressage bothers you more than the jumping, then you're 2/3 of the way there!!!

Broadway novice was lovely when I did it in 2007. I really enjoyed it! It was challenging but all the tricky fences had alternatives. If I had a horse to go novice, I definitely go back. I haven't registered this year - he's had to have time off because of my work but I'm hoping to get a younger horse at some point and get back to BE again!! I'm very jealous of you!!

Broadway is a lovely novice! I have been round there twice clear (thats is saying something!).

Good luck - I shall be there doing the pn.
