Oh good God, when will it end?

O PS. I soo feel your pain. Nitty is like a giant floofy teddy bear and she's just chucking it out. It's horrible! If it wasn't completely immoral to clip a non working 4yo she'd be getting shorn I can tell you. Who said TBs don't grow a coat?! :D

:o i do admit to taking the clippers to daughters old grey pony one april as i was sick to death of the moulting, he was part shettie and grew a coat that any llama would be proud of:rolleyes:
 
I bought my youngster 5 weeks ago and he was like a wooly bear. We are going through two numnahs a week!
 
My wee cob x native x yak started moulting before the cold snap! She got quite sweaty during the warmer days we've had. She's only rising 3, but I think she'll need clipping when she starts work!

Have to add she is bay, but my NF (out on loan) is grey so I feel your pain.
 
My new piebald cob I brought last month is the same, he's got such a thick coat he's been sweating when it's 10 degrees outside!

She had a small clip last autumn, and I have done this sort of de fuzzing session 5 more times and I am still getting as much out.
 
Mine didn't get clipped either (even with a rug she would freeze clipped during our Canadian winters), so this is the very fluffy TB I am now faced with:

And after an hour with the shedding blade and big grooma (fantastic, fantastic tool that it is) this is what I had to sweep up yesterday:

SOLD!!! Serenity, I am off to find my listers right mow as not only my nose and throat are blocked.. I itch like a fleabitten cat and now my eyes are burning.............. I am thinking of begging OH to go down and sort horses out for me fear of losing my skin altogether.............
 
I am soooo pleased I clipped my welsh a.

1. I hate grooming hairy ponies.
2. I hate sweaty ponies.
3. I hate moulting ponies.
4. I hate ponies that do not moult properly until July and then grow it back in August!

= one clipped out pony in January - he he he.

Get yourself a furminator - mine still has it's handle - mind you I only use it on legs LOL.
