One minute you're up, the next...

Took the monster out yesterday and at one point we were heading towards a lady with two labs. We were fairly close when suddenly this lady leaps onto one of her dogs and puts it on the lead - unfortunate, since Henry had already clocked them and was clearly considering heading to say hello.

So I whistled him, knowing full well I've probably got a 60:40 chance of getting him back at this point... lo and behold, he turns and heads back at high speed...

And goes straight past me and leaps straight into playing with the three (off-lead) little white fuzz-balls that were behind us (unbeknown to me)

I thought we were doing so well!

I know, I'm just waiting for the barrage of posts accusing me of being crushingly irresponsible and saying he should be kept on a lead for the rest of his natural life, or possibly just have his legs stapled together so he can't move so quickly:rolleyes::D

Although actually.... **goes to look in the stationary cupboard**

Oh yes, they had a whale of a time running round and round in little circles:D

LOL! For some reason my mind is not processing the white fluffy balls as dogs, and is instead giving me an image more akin to...

That's kind of how they looked from a distance! They were proper little dogs though (hellish noisy though, my ears were splitting at one of them!).:D

Also, I have a big paw-print on my stomach from where I was kicking leave up for him to jump at (our favourite autumnal game) and he hit me by accident... and I managed to kick him in the head accidentally during the same game!:o

Crushing irresponsible, and a dog kicker as well, shocking!
Evie and I met neighbours out with their cocker this morning. Evie was desperately trying to get Poppy to play, prodding her with a paw and then dashing off with her tail hooked, but Poppy just lay on the floor and squealed. Poor Evie got so frustrated, even tried dropping her ball on a rope on Pops head but no success. She then flatly refused to follow me when we carried on walking in opposite directions, preferring to continue to follow Poppy and prod her, I had to put her in a down and ago over and put her lead on before the little madam would come with me.

LOL it must be the day for it :D I had a lovely walk today in the woods, but just as we were heading home we met a cocker spaniel  Luckily Flick and Islay were behind me so I grabbed them, and Amy came back when I called her.....I put them on the lead and was chatting to the cockers nice owners, when the cocker jumped up at Flick and she snapped at it :o:o:o:o Oh the shame :o:o:o:o:o

Owners were lovely thank goodness :o

And it was worth the walk to get this afterwards.....:p

It sounds just like H  :D. The only difference is, he prefers to hide behind me when the white furry Westies and the like try to say hello to him.....

All the people I meet regularly walking their dogs all comment on what a softie he is, despite being 4/5 times the size of these little white balls of fluff :o :D.

Last time one tried to play with him he ran off and sought safety on a bench :o :D.

I have a vivid picture of your face full of unbridled joy when he comes bouncing back towards you so nicely and you're thinking that all the hard work has been about this moment of true rapport between dog and master ... and then the dismay when he carries on by. Cruel Henry, very cruel.

Were you there, hiding behind a clump of bracken perhaps? Cos that's extremely accurate:eek::D

Aw Spuds, don't get downhearted, B had a run-in with his old nemesis the doberman during agility yesterday and I spent the whole day kicking myself.
The only thing I will say is that he just ran around and around the dobe with his tail wagging rather than growling and trying to take a chunk out of him, which he would have done not so long ago - back to school (or longlining when the dobe is around :p) for me!

On the plus side, he must have at least looked back in your direction when you whistled :D but... err...just got a wee bit distracted!

I shall be getting in more supplies of chicken or similar tomorrow for recall practice - I'm off work all this week (yeeeeeeeeeees!) so we have time for lots of training.... mwahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa:D

Especially after the Squirrel Incident today:mad::rolleyes:

Bet the squirrel started it... :p

As to the fluff ball recall I can see it now:

"Gooooooooood booooooooooooo....NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO! Oh god, I'm so sorry, let me grab him for you" :o

Been there my friend, oh how I've been there! :D
