I'm pretty sure the general non horsey public think we all wander around in white breeches, bright show jackets, bling and a full face of slap. We all keep our horses in immaculate yards with no mud/ flying hay or poopy shavings that have escaped from wheelbarrows. I had a little chuckle to myself tonight when I went up to do my horse. I keep him at a DIY yard and coming straight from work we had a very strange selection of ski outfits, manky fleeces, rubber gloves, ankle high/knee high fleecey boots, jogging trousers, high vis jackets, full chaps, novelty wooly hats, full on Russian wool hats and toddlers so wrapped up they looked like the Michelin Man!
My yard is at least a foot deep in snow, the pipes are covered in hay under sacking to insulate them, there are suspicious patches of yellow snow from the yard dogs and at least three cars got stuck tonight!
How very glam! But very satisfying leaving my boy tucked up with his friends and a huge haynet!
