OH interested in helping at yard!!!

I am utterly gobsmacked. My very non horsey OH has said thathe would be glad to help me out when I can't get to the yard! I nearly choked on my cup of tea!

I have tested this and he has since been up a few times, got acqainted with my horse and has been learning the skills of mucking out etc. It has been hilarious!

It is his first day doing it alone tomorrow (some other girls will be around if it all goes wrong!).

I am not sure what he is primeing me for, I will wait with anticipation! What a lucky girl I am having a chap who actually wants to help out!

hope he's nothing like mine, left him to bring my two in the other day and he put them in the wrong stables and they ate each others dinner (one's on competition mix the other on 16 plus) havent asked him again, his excuse, they both look the same with their rugs on!! I ask you - ones 16.1 big strapping steel grey mare the others 15.3 pure white gelding.. thinks he needs some glasses.....
 
Can you send him along to speak to mine?

He comes to the yard and does help out but very reluctently! I had done my back in the other week so he had to turn out for one day- didnt stop whinging for 3 days LOL
 
My OH is shaping up nicely and has gone from standing behind a stone wall "Just to be on the safe side" to grooming, putting on saddle (can't manage bridle yet as daren't stick his finger in Ollie's mouth) and picking out feet. Oh, and he has also started offering me "riding tips" as he watches me schooling! Thing is, he's often spot on with his advice. How weird is that since he can't actually ride?
 
Mine likes to help out as long as he doesn't have to get too near an actual horse (although he has bought Murph in in an emergency I think the mickey may have been taken out of him a bit - ie. murphy grazed every step and took half an hour to walk 50 metres!) I got to the yard last night and he had popped in to drop some food off for me during the day, moved some hay and put up a weeks worth of haynets (and one haynet takes him forever to do!) - all without being asked, I was well impressed!!!
