OH....MY.....GAWD................

I think we *might*. We need to get Bo out a lot at the moment...he doesn't do well for time out of the ring

Unfortunately I think most of the indoor venues are 2 fences then turn....it's a bit difficult to do anything else unless you have a massive arena

Trikey is such a good boy, shame about Bo though but at least its an improvement on last week which is excellent news so hopefully it will be onwards and upwards from now on

Really? That is amazing, what have you done with him to get him jumping that well again?

[/ QUOTE ]

We haven't really 'done' anything....and he still has his off days
crazy.gif
He is on Cortaflex now....not sure if Kelly had him on that or not....and other than that he just gets plenty of exercise and plenty of time. We are only jumping tiny stuff (90cm and 1m tracks) with him too, so he's well within his comfort zone and if he doesn't feel 'right', then he just doesn't jump...simple as that
smile.gif

Kelly would have had him doing the same stuff as we are...she just wanted something that could take her forward at a quicker pace than he could...which is fair enough
smile.gif

I'm glad he has got a home that will let him be himself
smile.gif
Looking forward to some photos of him in action. I totally understand why Kelly sold him though.

I use Cortaflex on my old boy and I have really seen a difference in him. He was on it years ago after an injury then I was finding it too expensive to buy and took him off it. He had lots of "off" days/weeks until one day he became lame behind which turned out to be a pelvic issue. The physio suggested putting him back on the cortaflex and he hasn't had an "off" day now for over a year!!! I have also increased his work load and he seems to be coping well!

Hi

Well done you. I qualified for the Novice at Golden Cross last year and went to the finals. It isn't pricey like Scope etc but the whole thing ended up costing me about £200 with diesel, stabling etc (we went the day before as it is a long old hike).

Novice is over 3 rounds and starts off at 1m so ends up about 1.20 and unfortunately it does turn into a race against the clock. You wouldn't believe how fast they go in the 3rd timed round. Also well over 100 in the class so quite a few do get into the 3rd round.

The finals are normally end of March.

Hi Claire

Thanks for the info ! Oh my g*d though ! 1.20m in the third round might be pushing it a bit for the Trike monster I think...assuming we got that far
crazy.gif

Would you say it was worth the experience ? How long did it take you to get there ?

Sorry for all the questions

Hi there

Definitely worth going.

The ring is decorated with drapes and flowers and you have to go through a little archway to get to the ring!

I went up with someone else so we shared diesel and it meant we didn't have to start off stupidly early in the morning. They also have more living in their box than me so it was easier all round! The warm up class is a drawn order, starts promptly and they get through things very, very quickly!

The way we went isn't the way I or my OH would necessarily have gone and it took about 4/5 hours! I would think you could get there in 3?

It's not so bad if it's a class run as A8 that gets to 1.20 as by the time it gets to the 3rd round you've jumped everything twice anyway.

You'll have a great time there!

Well done!

We qualified on Saturday so we will see you there!

Diesel dog - you say see you there so does that mean you have qualified too?

XXXXXXXXXX

Sorry forgot to say that on the form you get when you are given your rosette at the end of the class you qualified for, it says the date- which is 16-22nd April. Did you not get the form with your rosette and prizemoney?

Sorry Diesel dog have just noticed that you qualified for the 1.20 final in another post!

Did you not get a form either? I thought you were given a form at the time and you send/fax it back and they send you the schedule? That is what happened for me on saturday.

Nope

Never had a form for anything i've qualified for tbh....the BSJA usually send you a letter nearer the time advising you you've qualified...or they have for anything i've ever qualified for at least
crazy.gif

Yes I have had that too- for my regional final. But on Saturday when I qualified at the prizegiving the stewards handed to myself and all the other seven that qualified a letter with an envelope that stated: Congrats blah, blah, please fax or send this form. They then send you a schedule.

I have never done a Blue Chip qualifier before, and qualified on my first attempt- woo hoo, so I do not know how it is usually done. But for myself and the others, we most certainly got a letter.

Anyway, so you know my letter stated it was 16-22nd April for the final. So we will see you there!

Hi Mellissa,

My sister has qualified on spot for the fox one and yes she did get given a form to send back.

Good luck at the finals

Okay...thanks for the info....and well done for qualifying yourself
smile.gif

I think i'll call the show centre and see what they say about the letter

Thats weird! We got a form at the time of qualifying as well.. that is the normal procedure. I think you might need to ring up and enquire at the venue why you didnt get given a form to fill in.. You wont receive a schedule or entry form if you dont inform them you have qualified..
