I haven't tried to plait for years!

But seeing as i've entered Blue in some showing shows i thought i'd better see what my attempts look like and the answer is not very good!

Started with his mane, in bunches and then plaited two bits and tried to roll them up cue golf ball plaits that fell apart!

So pulled his mane to half the length realising it was probably too long to plait and achieved a bit of a better result.....

Tail plait i think went a bit better but wouldn't be able to do a great job without a bit of help!

Oh dear, lots of practice needed i think!

I'm rubbish at it too and plan to put in some practice before the run of shows start.

My horse may find herself hacking with plaits over the next couple of weeks

I can do a running plait for Britain but am crappy at the neat little golf balls. BUT!!!!!! I can do magic ones by using that white electrical tape to wrap round the finished little bunch! Looks a million dollars. Now I know that there are some historic protocols re these plaits (can't remember what they are but someone on the Forum will know) but the way I see it you could use white tape for a few times while you get better and better at it and then graduate to proper ones with needle and thread!

Ugh i don't know about needles and threads i'd stab myself and him!!

Am going to keep practising i think!

I too can do a running plait which you would think would be harder no?!

Glad its not just me!

I am testing out "Easi Plait" at the weekend

Weird bits of fabric covered wires that allegedy negates the need to plait

If doesn't look awful I may post piccys!
