Went to a show on sunday with ben and a few others from my yard, I tied ben up to a tie ring with a net, a few other horses were scattered around and also onto the wagon next to us, a car was parked next to wagon but someone decided to put their horse on the tie ring next to car. I had asked someone to keep an eye on my horse while I went to pay entry fees.

Anyway on my way back, got a phone call saying my horse is going mad. Bit unusual I thought as my horse doesnt have the energy to go mad as he is the most laid back horse you will ever meet, I then get told hes kicked a car. Bit more unusual I thought as my horse dont kick out willy nilly.

Anyway get back to wagon my horse had been moved right next to the car on the tie ring, I got really upset as a bit of damage to the car but I wouldnt have been stupid enough to tie my horse their.

But I then realised my horse was actually far too close to the car to kick near the wing mirror it would have had to have been a pony that kicked it, and you would know about it if my 18hh horse kicked a car.
I knew the owners of the car, and not one person thought ben could have done that to the car as he was too close and is totally out of character, at a show he is so doped up its untrue.

Anyway after much discussion I had come to the conclusion that someone else did the damage on the car and they blamed my horse and moved him to cover up what happened. By the way the person who rang me does not like me one bit so it kind of all makes sense.

Then today My friend was speaking to a teacher at school and it turns out it wasnt my horse that did it, it was someone elses, she had the proof as she was just recording her kids messing about and then happened to look up as the horse was kicking the car.

It has got me so mad, to blame my horse what would you do? The woman who rang me is not young either shes about 50 so what is her excuse, It was weird how it all happened as noone saw anything even tho the driver of the wagon he was sat right next to the car in his cab? He would have seen what horse did it, unless he moved it

Sorry for the rant I am slightly peeved.

Blinking heck! I would be soooo mad! You have the proof, so I would try get a written statement from the lady who saw it happen, plus photo from her phone? if you have that. If anyone tries to claim off you, go to the police.

Its a right mess, I cant believe adults would lie? Luckily it was a company car so its been claimed of their insurance, I know the owner of the car and her daughter and not one of them thought it was ben anyway, it is just the fact I could have got in a lot of bother for this if they had decided they had wanted to claim.

I did say to them I was insured as I am but it is unfair as he didnt do it and they watched me panic and didnt bother.

damn right to be peeved, i'd be fricking livid! if you can get hold of that video, you blooming well use it as evidence and they can pay for the damage! i'd even think about liable! (although i may never actually do that myself!)

some people are just unexplainable and so rude.GRRRRRRRRR!

I'm afraid I would be on the warpath! I would definately be going to see her, something along the lines of "How dare you blame my horse for kicking the car, I've just spoken to someone wh saw the whole thing...."

Mind you I have been know to go aff at the deep end from time to time so maybe my advice isn't the best

No I usually am like that aswell. I mean I know my horse so it baffled me as to why he was moved in he first place? Im not saying he doesnt kick but it would be very very out of character for him to kick the car.
Words will be said believe me, Im annoyed now I could have gott in so much bother if anyone took it further.

OMG I would be FUMING!

and how dare they move your horse aswell!

Vindictive evil people, like you said that could have caused so much trouble, thankfully someone saw what happened, and your friends know ben's character, but OMG!!

I thought it was me over reacting at first but I was annoyed someone moved my horse, and to then blame him argh Im really annoyed. If my horse did it I would own up or If I would have seen who did it I would own up, not shift the blame on someone else.

agree don't let them get away with it.

I had an incident where I was at a show came back to find a great big dent in the side of my car. Sad thing was that there was witnesses and the lady resonsible never came to admit to the damage. It was only when I tackled her ( in a mutual class) that she admitted it, but she said that it wasn't her fault. I told her that it was there were witnesses and(as earlier in the day she said she wouldn't be held responsible if her horse damaged my car due to the rediculous parking arrangements) since she has already admitted a problem horse and that if I didn't have her insurance details after the class the police and my solicitors would be chasing her though the court. Funny how I got her details ( albeit grudgingly) Insurance couldn't belive it when I spoke to them
