Just seen the most awful attempt at lungeing ever!
Pony has been turned away all winter with occasional visit by owner, every several weeks or so.
Not able to lead said pony in without high dramas.
Anyway, arrived at yard to see her take pony into arena, on a long lunge rein and proceed to attempt lungeing. Would be funny if not so tragic. She was never behind pony but sort of pulling it in her direction.
Pony immediately pulled free from her and ran round arena with trailing lunge line. Owner started cracking whip behind to 'teach it a lesson'. This happened for 5 or 6 times. Pony was obviously upset and didn't know what it had done wrong. Owner cannot even lead it in hand without losing it.
So sad, dying to give advice but as when trying to give advice before in a polite manner, just walked away, she has had horses from the age of six months!
So sorry for poor pony. She probably won't do anything for a fair number of weeks if history is to be repeated. Gobsmacked really

not suprising though ive seen someone jabbing violently at the bit on a lunge to bring the horse in an outline ! needless to say the horse resisted, reared and took off- the horse was a l'ittle b*stard' apparantly who was untrainable...
