Haven't heard anything from mine yet today so am hoping all is ok - off there in a mo after work! But the wind is whipping up again outside ..........

Its hideous here in North Devon. I didn't sleep a wink last night as I was worried in case the stable roofs flew off! Its whipping it up again now, another sleepless night.

My cob is in......but,TBH he does not care, stood outside his box this morning with a hay net and did not butt an eyelid to anything,a hurricane could have gone through and he would have gone on eating......at the mo my field is flooded as stream has broke it's banks....so at lunchtime when I went to skip out we had ducks and various pond birds in the field!!!!!

Great for them......not the horses though, hope every body else's is OK! Is very gusty in Surrey and heavy rain, but quiet at the mo!

Alee my WB youngster got turned away at the beginning of the week, there was me thinking the weather would be a little better by now!!
Got a text from her new yard to say that if she was struggling I could bring her into a stable for a few hours.
Got to field to find all the hardy shetlands and welshies standing under the trees huddling together to keep warm and Alee right in the middle in the howling wind and pooring rain munching away at grass as happy as larry!!!

The boys couldn't wait to come into their warm stables though. Had to turn spike out as its the last time he'll go out before his op then he'll be on box rest for a couple of months.

It is absolutely evil here, apparently Cornwall are getting the brunt of this. Neds are mainly huddled in their field shelter.

Awful here, just got my lot in, much to their delight

. Bless them, they were all good as gold as well! Now happily tucked up in their pj's munching hay.

Be careful in this weather everyone.

Donkeymad - how is your hubby?

awful here again for the 3rd time today - 2 breaks for a breather and now it's setting down to be as bad a last night again

yuck

Weather is yucky and am feeling rather bad as our YO convinced me not to pop down after uni as the roads are all flooded up to the yard. Mare is on full livery so I have enough time for study but I would have still liked to check on her today. I have had regular updates all day and apparently she was happily chomping hay when they last checked on her, so I don't think she's that fussed by the absence of her mummy today. I do still feel bad though, as I've never been a fairweather rider and have no intention of becoming one!

Just going out now to bring the boys in. I took them in last night but turned them out at 6.00am. We had a lovely sunny morning but the wind and rain came back this afternoon. I got my yard work done in a lull and now its just very wet so I think in for the night is in order.

They have actually been out in the middle of the field munching away on the grass regardless of the wind and rain all afternoon. Lets all give praise for modern rugs!

I had a horrible day today been at the yard all day, needed to help rebuild parts of it but all done now..hopefully stable enough for tonight. Horses were all turned out but v stressed in the morning after everything that had happened during the night, fortunately they all went in ok and hopefully tonight will be ok..don't think i'll be sleeping though!

My poor neglected horses are out again, shivering, starving, unloved.
Anyone fancy 'rescuing' them and I'll collect them when the nice spring weather comes?

PS If you do report me, give me a bit of notice so I can take their rugs off, remove hay, haylage and hard feed, and try to get a bit of the lard off them.

I looked out the window and thought the wind wasn't too bad, but i think i was wrong!!!

We had a tree fall down at the yard this morning and take out the power cables. Luckily it was away from the stables and none of the horses or anyone was hurt and the council were really good, working all day to sort it out. Ponios were quite spooked though and i had an interesting ride this afternoon....

Fingers crossed it passes quickly.

was all quiet earlier when i was at the yard. was in two minds as to put a rug on my boy or not.

glad i did though, coz now its raining. not too windy yet - the worst won't get here 'till wednesday. we are staying out, but rugged up, as we dislike the stable intensly.

so much so, last time we were in, we rubbed a large patch of hair from each side of our face. mother was not pleased....
