I decided to clear out the tack room, and so put loads of stuff on ebay. Now why is it, when I want to buy things I end up paying nearly new price, and yet when I want to sell things, no one bids!

I put my jeffries falcon saddle on there, this was valued by a saddler for £300, but if it made £150 I would have been happy.

Well it has thirty minutes to go, and is still only sitting there at £60. Someone is going to get a real bargain! Also put a wintec on there for £50, and not a single bid! Is this the credit crunch....? A month ago I bought a wintec, had one hell of an ebay battle and ended up paying almost £200!!

i would put a reserve on a saddle like the falcon if you ever did the ebay thing again. shame to give it away

I agree photos aren't great, but didn't have time to 'stage' a proper photograph. The saddles I have bought (for hideous amounts of money) off of ebay have often had worse pictures than mine. I don't know whether to remove item from sale, as really not happy with £60.

I looked at your Jeffries saddle yesterday but wasn't sure on the cut of the knee rolls, with how it was pictured.

Looking to try another saddle on Patches.

I don't want to post any details of auction as don't want to be seen as advertising, lol (was genuinely just having a rant - ebay always seems to be unfair to me). But, bidding has gone crazy in last few minutes. Still a bargain saddle, but am a bit happier with the price.

I too am looking for another Jefferies saddle. I do look on e-bay but I won't bid unless I can see the saddle properly. I will not risk bidding on something I can't get a good look at and I always like a selection of photos.

Sometimes I will ask for more to be sent with to but other times TBH I can't be bothered and move on to the next one.

Just had a look at the completed listings and loads havent even had one bid. Maybe it is that people are tightening their belts.

The same always happens to me!
I think though that bids don't really happen till the last minutes, sometimes you can be surprised.
Hope you get your saddle sold for a decent amount.
I've been trying to sell a wide fitting dressage saddle for ages at my local saddlers. At least it isn't eating anything!

My saddles always sell well on Ebay and I have always made some money - Yay! The secret is your photographs, lots of good ones and remember to photo the make and size stamp on the saddle. You don't need to put a reserve on your saddle just set the starting price to the lowest you would let the saddle go for. I sold one of mine last week for a £175 profit, so def not the credit crunch.
