Farrier was due at 9am this morning - YO has just had a text off him to say he can no longer provide a reliable service so please look for another farrier!!!

I know there are loads of Farriers in Leicestershire, but we need one that does a bit of remedial work and to a high standard, but doesn't cost the earth

Can anyone recommend a good farrier near Lutterworth/south Leics who isn't too expensive? What a nightmare

Matin Deacon is the man for remedial shoeing but he doesn't come cheap, but he is reliable. He will also shoe at his forge if you can get the horse there - cuts the cost down a bit.
There are 3 in the area who trained with Martin and have now set up on their own but they may be full.

I did have loads of PMs suggesting farriers, don't think I've kept them but I'll dig around and see what I can find...

Unfortunately Ben Pollock/Graham Smith are a no go.....we had a falling out a few years ago

Thanks for the suggestions though

Very strange - unless it was a plumbing training course or something! YO got a text this morning

Phil Richards and Guy Sheffield trained with Martin. They are both very good, use the T bar to balance the foot. The other one who recently set up on his own was Adrien but I don't know his surname but could maybe find out.
don't use Graham Smith or ben Pollock if you need remedial shoeing.

Thanks everyone! Oh dear - what a disaster...

Guy Sheffield put my horses fronts on last week and has done a nice job, so I might see if he has any spaces as he does the horses where I work at weekends. I'm guessing he's expensive though! Oh for the days when a set of shoes was £28!!!
