It's minus 13 here so I brought my yearling in just for a nice lie down if he wanted it. Just gone out to do night nets and he wasn't in his stable - he was in the pig's field! He'd decided he wanted out, at minus 13, without a rug, in a blizzard and chose to have a pig as company. My pony is a freak!

He has decided that 14 foot is plenty of a run up to jump a 1m20 stable gate

Absolutely! I tried to put it on him the other day as his paddock has no shelter but he decided he would rather not thanks  My 2 girls are out naked still but they can come and go as their stable is open to the field - handy :)

haha! He sounds like he's going to be quite a character

Our 18hh WB managed to get his stable rug off a couple of weeks ago, he even positioned it sort of over the door to make it easier for us to stick back on him.... surcingles and everything were all still tied together. It's no suprise really, this horse can decode locks :D

That was an almost daily trick that my WB was doing at one point, even in -degrees he was stripping naked and leaving the rugs by or completley over/outside the door! Touch wood though this year he hasnt, but I also havnt clipped him so he needs less layers :)

Aww lol, I put my filly a rug o last night I have serious doubts as to whether it will be on this morning, her bum had ice on it yesterday and as shes recovering from a respitory infection i thought she better have one.

Last winter mine went naked - they had a session towards the end of the previous winter of trashing rugs daily after each had finally wrecked two covers each to the point they were unusable I gave up and told them that until they can behave in a more mature fashion towards their expensive nighties that they wouldn't get any more. My 2 yr old was quite attentive but the 4yr old was busy seeing how many headcollars and ropes he could get into his mouth in one go! I'm still finding pieces of purple fabric in the paddock over a year later.
