Oh No - My horse has taken up smoking!

Horsey will be fine as peeps say but I'm scratching my head why OP's dogs were hanging around waiting for her to drop one! Flippin' heck! I know we horse owners are a coarse and earthy crowd but really ................................

I once gave my horse a Tesco receipt it was screwed up in my pocket with the treats! Was told that it could be a problem due to the ink on the paper

funny thing is he didn't have any side affects and is still alive! I wouldn't worry then again I wouldn't make it a regular thing either! Imagine a horse with the DTs and shakes having to give up ciggies and how big would the nicotine patch have to be!!

God...Whats all the fuss, back in the old days they used to feed horses tobacco for worming purposes so Im sure one little end wont cause him any harm!

We had a chap come to do some work for us. He was in the field with the ponies for a while doing some work on the shelter. He'd put his fags down and when he went to pick them up discovered our Sec A had shaken them out of the pack and eaten the lot.

You'd think he'd learn. A couple of days later the pony got his sandwiches.

My only thought was that you might stub out and drown the end of the cigarette - but what happens to all the hot ash that drops off it whilst you are smoking? I've seen fires caused by hot ash on straw, not the cigarette being dropped.
