Oh no oh no oh no

Try walking your dog with your OH and the pair of you hiding in the bushes when discovered by a bloke walking his dog... that didn;t look dodgy at all, did it??

In the early days me and my mum pushed my poor step-dad into a hedge because he didn't hide quickly enough

PSML, oh we've done that too

AND whilst whispering a bit too loudly "Shhh! They'll see us"

Not dodgy at all!

I've also been found hiding up a tree as well - confused the spangle and the bloke walking by. Not everyday I'm found in a low-hanging oak branch...

I had a lady at Burghley telling my very loudly how to stop my dog pulling, so loudly the entire shop stopped to have a good gawp, the thing was, Otto wasn't pulling!! He had a halti on so I could stop him shoving his nose where it didn't belong!!

I saw you at Burghley and the lady was right - you and Otto were an absolute disgrace.................

In my head, it'd be like the 12 Days of Spangle-pocalypse
For example: (needs refinement, and a change of season
blush.gif
)

On the 12th Day of Spangle Army, the Army gave to theeee:

12 Kongs-a flying
11 Long lines flailing
10 Failed Recalls
9 Nyla chews
8 Wubba bones
7 broken collars
6 stolen pick'n'mix
5 GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
4 choke chains
3 ruined balls
2 scared shop assistants

And a HENRY LEADING THE FRAY!

Would you like me to go into said shop and tell said shop assistant I was so impressed with the advice she gave you I thought she might be able to help me out, give her Otto's lead a walk away?? I can guarantee she would be skiing out after me
grin.gif

Just like the person who offered to hold Otto whilst I went to the loo, and sneered at me when I told them he would try to follow me and make sure they held tight!
grin.gif

I would happily bring Purdey on the 'Spaniel Massive' but I'm not sure she would really have the right menacing look about her!
14022010.jpg

She needs to work on that Death Stare
smile.gif
Perhaps she can be the decoy, luring the people away while the other spangles and honorary spangles get into position
grin.gif

Hen, I used to love handing the lead over to people who gave me 'helpful advice' about Henry's pulling - generally the last I'd hear from them would be 'Gosh he's much stronger than he looks isn't heeeeeeeeeee' as they vanished off into the distance....
smirk.gif

Purdey can be a Cadet-In-Training
grin.gif

She can lure the Wench towards her..then.... *theme from Jaws starts* the Spangles approach....

Actually, I get the feeling she might be more of a Shrek's Puss in Boots though - all sweety and innocent...and then she strikes!

LOVE IT! Have you ever thought of going into film directing? I can see it all now!
grin.gif

Maybe not film directing - but thread-hijacking seems to come quite easily to me
blush.gif
...look, I've ruined Spudlet's perfectly reasonable thread about dog training with Spangle Armies and a mildly plagiarised song... Sorry Spudlet
blush.gif

(I'd be lying if I said I hadn't enjoyed it though...

No no, it cheered me right up, I was feeling very sorry for myself before what with leads and wenches, now I feel much better
laugh.gif

Its a spaniel....if you let it loose and it goes missing well who cares????

OK-didn't mean that AT ALL regarding other spangles...mine on the other hand

Spudlet-I have just posted my trauma of the day!
I have a trauma EVERY day now that the spangle has entered out lives.
I keep taking her collar off and running away while walking her but ruddy father has taught her where she lives so when I get back damn thing is sitting on the steps with a goofy grin!
After today she is lucky not be on a chineese menu!

*cayla* goes against the grain "waits for a beating" then remembers she is the hardest girl in AAD....unless a few try to jump me

Im working with a boxer and have told owners to keep said dog on the lead until I can make time to get there and have given over the phone instructions
tongue.gif
I simply am struggling for time and Im helping them as they have tried lots of trainers and are tearing their hair out.
I know it's hard....have been there many moons ago with my weiry Pointer boy..but it pays off in the end
smile.gif

OK, I was bad, I let him off the lead this morning
blush.gif

And he was very good
smile.gif

He stayed close hunting through the hedges wherever I directed him
smile.gif

He flushed a phessie - and came straight back from it when it flew
laugh.gif

He did wibble a bit when we got closer to a rabbit warren but we are talking about a matter of a few seconds - he still got praised and treated of course, but then he went back on the lead anyway and walked on the lead for a few minutes until he was calm - then let him back off and did the same again - practice, and then as soon as he even began to falter a little back on the lead but with praise and treats for going back.

When he came back immediately he had to wait for a second then he got sent straight back off again
smile.gif

So am much more pleased today
grin.gif

Hopefully we can avoid the dreaded long line
crazy.gif
We shall see

It probably helps that I have gone back to his norty boy feeding regime - teeny tiny breakfast and big tea, and laid in supplies of sausage (with a dollop of natural yogurt on tea, which i am hoping will quell the noxious side effects of hotdogs
crazy.gif
)

You will notice a difference, if his food drive is strong, then he will work harder for you if he is hungry, IMO - my boy gets nothing on the morning of tracks and makes it all back up by finding his food and the reward at the end - the total amount of just one track is equal to what he would get for his brekkie.

We had got past that stage, but we'll go back a step for now.

I was so pleased about the phessie
laugh.gif
I think he did really well!

I think this partly because he has been allowed into bad habits while I was away, hopefully it will prove to be a hump rather than a mountain.

I know three year old competitive working trials dogs competing at the highest level that are fasted the night before competitions, use things like that whenever you need it
smile.gif

I am very jealous about your callback from a pheasant - we put up three yesterday on lead, thankfully, there was *lot* of prancing. It is really funny now when we see sheep, they get a real good LOOK but he comes to me and presses himself against my left leg while doing so, because he knows that is what I will make him do anyway and is saving us both a job
tongue.gif

I nearly fell over when he actually came back
grin.gif
He was hunting about a metre off me in the hedge and I heard the damn thing go up on the far side **here we go again** I thought - but gave it a go anyway and back he came for a BIG cuddle and a bit of sausage, then off for more hedge hunting!

Bless B - you should take him beating, he'd love it
grin.gif

You should have seen Otto this morning, he was on the rampage, completely ignoring me, eventually coming back but veering off at the last second or coming back, slowing down and then bogging off past me
mad.gif

Last time I open a Henry post with Otto sat next to me!!
