Just been talking with someone at work when they asked us which way we go home. Well theyve closed most of the roads round where we are due to flooding. So far in our little are there are 7 roads closed and the main one of those is the one into my village! oh crap how am I going to get home now!, let alone getting to the horses!

Deepcar is flooded?? We didn't make it to work today because the train got half way to Derby and then had to reverse back to Sheffield because a tree was over the line!

I know ive never known Deepcar flood at all! It must be bad. God knows what the back road and bottom of Well Hill is going to be like cos that likes to flood with the slightest bit of rain!
I wish I hadnt bothered coming into work today, shouldve had a duvet day! Cant believe the trains, nobody mentioned anything at work today about them. DO you know what went off on the M1 with the "incident"

sky news is just forecasting up to 4 inches of rain falling today in lots of areas

you're in one of them if you are on that rail line

i'd ask if you can try to go home now due to the weather

don't try and walk thru any floodwater - in places it's 5 ft deep and strong currents

good luck

No, what was that?? We were in two minds weather to drive (M1) or train but I suppose at least the train is pretty safe, if useless!! Mums living room flooded last week - came in though the floor!! This weather is CRAZY!! hope you make it home and to your neds ok.

there's apparently a closure between junction 6-7 due to a big accident. I use M1 to get up to yard (I get off J4) but am wondering whether I should avoid it?

The incident at thorpe hesley M1 junc was a man threatening to jump off the bridge.

I'm in a little village near Doncaster and unless you have a 4x4 you cannot get in or out of the village all the access roads have flooded, its a nightmare.

Luckily I can walk up to the yard, 5 mins away, will get my waterproofs out soon!!
