naughty 4 yr old sent me skywards today, for no flipping reason whatsoever. i stayed on the enormous vertical levade that then launched upwards, but the humongous buck that followed it was too much, and i let go. Oops, wrong decision, went up vertical in frog position, came down in frog position. knee went clunk clunk to the left, then clunk clunk to the right. nice. lay in arena yelling "help" like a useless muppet until one of next door neighbour's workmen heard me and came to help. managed to hobble up arena using him on 1 side and a rake as a crutch on the other to catch naughty loose horse (hooleying around in her tack like a psycho beast), knee dislocated again as i tried to get her, and went back in again. niiiiiice. screamed and collapsed on the floor. no cool points for me.
managed to lead her down arena and into stable, strip off tack (hey, horsey girls are tough, right?!) while lovely workman tried to help and looked on in amazement... (he's not horsey and i didn't want witchy 4-year old to have fun with him and probably put him in hospital.)
just back from A&E with crutches and splint, back to see orthopaedic specialist tomorrow... hope i can beg/bully them into operating asap, as it has no lateral stability at all and i think i've mullered the cruciate again (it's my unlucky knee.) thank god for private medical insurance.
btw, the first thing the triage nurse asked me was "were you wearing a hat?" (yes) followed by "were you wearing a body protector?" (yes). it felt good to look responsible and get an approving smile and not get a disapproving "all horsey people are nutters who deserve injuries" look...
so, vibes and sympathy please, and a curse on my very naughty Daisy, who i might not love quite as much as i did before...
