Oh poo, add me to the "broken HHOers" list please.

no MRI this time, just some rather interesting exploratory diagnostic feeling around by the consultant. if it's not improving soon i'll jump up and down (metaphorically speaking) until i get an MRI...
yes, i broke her myself, she's been an angel up till now, only had the odd 'moment' and nothing like this!
don't fancy trying to sue myself, i might lose everything!

Hi K, haven't read most of the replies as I've been out hunting various 4yos all day (and now feel EXTREMELY lucky

) but oh sh!t, am extremely sorry for you and hope you get the surgery you want etc. ASAP.

Maybe try telling them you're a potential 2012 athlete?

Ditto what jemima said about leg stretches etc - my friend (who broke herself back in May) is still doing all the physio and she's had the exact same problem.

Oh dear. Not as bad as it could have been but still, no fun at all. Glad that you're being sensible (for now . . .) and hopefully it will heal in double quick time. What about a magnetic boot? I'm sure they make them for people but you could get a hock boot and then hope you never need it again!

So sorry to hear this (as I selfishly like your "what I'm doing with the horses posts")

Do hope you heal soon (note to self - do not consider any youngsters in your theoretical next horse musings!

Ouch, another one in the "6 weeks club" then. Can sympathise, am 3 weeks through recovery from broken ankle (never, ever land on your feet when you fall off).

Sounds like you've been though it all before but in case you haven't thought of them, I've found a couple of top tips when you're on crutches:

Rucksacks are v.handy for carrying bits and bobs round the house.

Get one of those tea cups with a lid otherwise it's impossible to carry a cup of tea...disaster.

Good luck, hope you're back to it soon.

thanks guys! rucksack, that's a great idea. i'm currently carrying things around in pockets, down front of trousers, and in my mouth... really classy.
managed to put bottom of left crutch on my good foot today, not clever.
feeling much much better now i know to avoid the evilness that is co-codamol. apparently taking 2, 4 hours apart, is not the best idea if you don't know you're sensitive to it... oooops.
thanks for sympathy everyone!

Ouch, sorry to hear this! My full sympathy after having a similar experience in the summer (without the knee bit - I managed to land on my ribs and miraculously bruised them rather than broke them).
Hope you're back in action again soon.

On the Co-codamol side of things - they make me violently ill. So I was advised to take one Co-codamol and one parcetamol. Which worked for me. A bit more pain killing than straight paracetomol - but no horrible side affects.
