Oh What a Perfect Day...

Spent the morning poddling thru our local woods which meet my parents land at the river, rode up the river and then sat on the bank watching the king fishers and trying to spot fish, whilst Murph noshed grass around my toes, then after a while, galloped (after a fashion) up the hill home. Spent the afternoon bathing him in the sunshine and combing out his never ending mane and tail... before turning him out in the paddock -- I didn't even care that he immediately got down and rolled... Shattered now, but that happy, physical non stressed tired that just gets u a good night sleep... I think I may have died and gone to heaven - Today is a day that makes me glad that I put up with another winter of mud and cold and wet...

Well Kinda a pointless post but there seem to be so many sad/ angry posts at the moment, I felt like reminding everyone why we do this!
 
On my horse for 1 1/2 hour hack at 7.30am, favourite hack with fabulous views and the going was perfect. Round to best friends house for brunch to celebrate godson's 21st birthday, then afternoon in the garden tidying up, and a walk with the dog and her friend to the river so they could swim to cool off. Just about to pour a gin and tonic and sit in the garden for a short while. As you say, a perfect day!
 
Had a lovely long hack and stopped off in the pub on the way back. I had a nice refreshing drink while L snoozed in the sun :D

The bonus of sunny weather meant there were lots of walkers on the cotswold way to open gates ;)
 
Have just spent the afternoon clearing stables with my friend and getting burnt arms :rolleyes: had a lovely hack friday evening and yesterday and now have two weeks off work to look forward too :D can't wait - loads of time to do horsey type things xx
 
I went on a hack with a friend I haven't seen for a while, took the horses up the gallops and then took Ethel over some coloured poles for the first time, she was very good :)
 
Had a jump lesson and was 'pushed' to do something out of my depth - did it, did it well and was chuffed. Ponio then had a nervous rider on board and popped an X pole and she was chuffed too. Got sunburnt though:o
 
What an uplifting post! :)

I got to drive my new toy (KIA Sorento) for the first time, had a fab lesson - Springy went beautifully despite the heat, bathed her, cleaned tack, watched the gorgeous new foal out in the field and caught up with my fellow liveries. Blissful - I feel very lucky and very tired!
 
Taught my cutie baby foal to have a headcollar on :D & spent rest of day watching her gallop round Mummy in circles and sorting out my very overgrown garden! Have already sorted out overgrown area outside stables, have got my priorities right ;)

Lovely idea for a thread, we do need reminding why we do it sometimes and days like today make all the mud worthwhile!:D
 
That sounds so lovely :D
I had work from 7.30am-1pm then headed off to the field for some sunshine relaxation :D
Wasnt too relaxing tbh, emptied, cleaned and re-filled the water buckets, then spend 2 hours poo picking :eek: 6 barrows full later the field was poo free :D (ive been away and friend has got kidney stones so its built up in just one week) :(
Then washed lady, didnt even bother me that i didnt have time to ride, the water was so nice on my hands, which were sore and raw from all the work today.
Achey, tired, sore and sunburnt, but has been one of the best days so far this year :D
