Ok so i have for pedigree staffordshire bull terriers. Mum and dad and two of their babys who are now 2 yrs old.

My brother was out walking the four of them tonight with his OH. My dogs are very well trained and would never dream of biting a human. The father of the pack (ki) has been agressive (meaning growling not biting) towards other dogs since we had the babys but has never been in a fight. My dog Tyra (one of the babys) turned on a collie tonight. They were on leads but that dog wasnt. He approached our dogs and tyra obviously took offence. Her lead snapped with the force she was pulling and she attacked it. The owner then took his dog to the vets and its cost my brother £50 odd for fees. It had two wounds in its head. Im worried that the dog owner will take it further and my baby will be seized.

Who was in the wrong???

Nobody was, although you could possibly get asked to put muzzles on your dogs. I think anybody can go without a lead can't they.

Don't worry, I doubt the owner of the other dog would take it further if your brother paid vets fees, and since its only a dog, not a human they can't seize your dog.

To be honest this is the stuff of nightmares. It could have been avoided if the other dog was on the lead. Yours snapping is unfortunate but if it went further I would be inclined to be in your favour and not the collies. However might be best to muzzle if you know your dog has aggression issues. No excuse for the collie not being under control.
